Conservatives Announce New Program
to Fund Sex Parades

On June 4th Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced a new program setting aside $100 million for “Marquis Tourism Events”. With record speed, on June 15th, the Minister of State, Diane Ablonzy, delivered a $400,000 cheque to fund Pride, a sex parade in Toronto. For the next two years it appears that the Conservative Government will fund various tourist events including numerous sex parades in cities across the nation, with taxpayer’s money. Taking funds from families during the tough times of a recession and giving the money to organizers of promiscuous sexual activities is socially egregious, politically damaging, and spiritually catastrophic.

This massive amount of funding goes for no public good and aids in fueling a dangerous sex trade. Some may think that these parades are harmless reveling but they are anything. In full view of our children, men and women walk down our Main Streets, many of them in full nudity, performing mock sex acts. They promote every type of promiscuity imaginable including adultery, sadomasochism, homosexuality, lesbianism, group sex, prostitution and bisexuality. While many parents are losing their jobs, trying to make ends meet and pay their taxes, the Government is taking their hard earned money and giving cash towards anti-family activities that ultimately endanger our children!

The RCMP reports that child sex abuse is up by 400% since 2003. According to the Federal Ombudsman for Victims of Crime report, “child sexual exploitation is ranked as one of the top three concerns for parents regarding children”. As the Conservative government unveils this new program, funding sex programs across the land, families will turn away from the Conservative Party in droves. This will be politically disastrous, especially due to the fact that the Conservatives are in power because they have triumphed family values, and gained the votes from families that did not vote Conservative in the past. Once they lose the family vote who will vote for them?

Funding sex parades is not just politically destructive- it is also spiritually devastating. Scripture records numerous admonitions to not promote immorality. The first chapter of Romans teaches us that God will turn one over to vile passions and a reprobate mind. He then gives a litany of inevitable consequences that will follow. Paul Martin is a clear example of this immutable spiritual law. Mr. Martin had a stellar career as the Finance Minister and most believed he would become a great Prime Minster. Once he achieved the office, Paul Martin spent all his political capital to redefine marriage. Everything fell apart and he ended his short term with newspapers reporting that he was the worst Prime Minister in the history of Canada. Paul Martin lost his life-long goal, his legacy and integrity. Stephen Harper has done quite well for families as Prime Minister for 3 years raising the age of sexual consent and attempting to protect children. However I am afraid that if he continues to move in this direction he will see his career could abruptly end in turmoil and disgrace.

The hope is that the course can be corrected. If you and I, plus our friends, families and colleagues voice our opposition to this program, hopefully the Prime Minster will listen and reverse the path he has chosen.

We, the undersigned, are appalled that the Conservative Government decided to give $400,000 of taxpayer’s dollars to Pride, a sex parade in Toronto. We are concerned that the Government of Canada has set aside $100 Million dollars for “Marquis Tourism Events” with the potential of funding other sex parades in Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Halifax and other Canadian cities .
We herby request that no further funds go to sex parades or sex related tourism events.
